LULAROE DYE ISSUES – “YOU SIT DOWN TOO MUCH”

This customer reached out to LuLaRoe after her black leggings ruined her couch and her bed sheets. The video below is of the recorded voicemail left by LuLaRoe, with pictures of the ruined items. LuLaRoe has stated many times previously that bleeding of black dye is a common occurrence with black clothing. I have NEVER had any of my black clothing bleed. I have had blue denim bleed, but that was years ago, prior to the higher quality dyes that are used today, that do not bleed.

  1. Not that this comment will help or fix your couch & sheets, but your story reminds me of a story Joe Walsh told in the documentary of the Eagles when he and John Belushi spray painted their jeans with black spray paint to gain entrance into an exclusive restaurant in Chicago. They sat down in fancy upholstered chairs, ate their dinner, and when they stood up to leave, the spray paint leached onto the upholstery, turning the chairs black. By the way, I have many pairs of black leggings, jeggings and pants, and none of the have ever “bled” dye on a couch or any other surface while I was wearing them. They can bleed in the washing machine if they’re not washed in cold water, but they shouldn’t “bleed” dye when you’re wearing them. I am just curious about something: Were your legs black from the dye too?

  2. I’ve had the same issue with my Noir leggings and Lynnae. My leggings made my toilet seat blue. And, I’ve washed my Lynnae over 5 times, and it still leaves a blue tint on my body.

  3. seriously, anything black from anywhere can do this, my bet is you were hot and your butt was sweaty and made the dye bleed. even freaking hair dye bleeds (black, purple, reds) did you wash them before you wore them? (also common sense to wash clothes before you wear them) if you did I doubt you followed the tag instructions lol… seriously pathetic ….. I own over 100 pieces of lula and have never had this happen even with my black leggings, irmas, and all the other pieces I own ! as for your sheets I bet you were sweating in your sleep like most people do. moisture causes dyes to bleed.

  4. The old manufactured Levis, you know, the shrink to fits, did ‘leak dye’ but that’s how they were supposed to be. Indigo is not like synthetic dyes. But oh, how those jeans wore!

Remember how we all had ways to make them fit? Buy them two sizes too big, wash in hot water with lots of softener, the demin was so stiff and you wanted some fade.

They came with a tag that warned of dye runoff, as if we didn’t know. Our mothers did!

A kid across the street had his own process to get tight jeans. He’d buy them his size or one size up, not two, put them on, and soak in a tub full of hot water and Downy. His mother walked in one time and panicked, she thought he must be on drugs!

I wish I could still get those jeans, the denim was so durable and they lasted for years. I can’t find that heavy material in any brand.

  5. My wardrobe is at least 75% black; my bottoms are about 90% black. I have never EVER had black clothing rub off on my sheets or sofa. Only a couple of times ever has it ever rubbed off on my body. It can bleed in the wash, but that has been rare, too.
