LuLaRoe Racism at Home Office – My Take on Lawsuit #23

LuLaRoe is no stranger to controversy and just when you think they can’t get any worse, they do. The latest shenanigans today (and they are happening daily, as of late) is the civil suit filed by Brandon Stubblefield, alleging blatant racism. This is the first that we’ve heard of home office racism, but I’m honestly not surprised that LuLaRoe racism exists. If they can perpetuate and allow discrimination and retailer mocking people with disabilities, nothing would surprise me.

The things I’m going to talk about in this post are triggering – there’s no way for me to avoid that. Please heed this warning and steel yourself for the worst, because it is bad.

Brandon was a warehouse forklift operator. He started his employment from about November 7, 2016, with termination commencing on July 17, 2017. Hector Casas became his supervisor shortly after the holidays at the end of 2016.

It is alleged that Brandon, as well as his other African-American colleagues, were mistreated, yelled at, harassed, berated, and disrespected. Brandon was on a small team of people with 10-12 other team members and feel that he was singled out due to his race.

In one particularly heinous event, Hector Casas failed to stop other employees from singing “Wade in the Water” in jest, a song associated with slave labor in the antebellum South, while Brandon was moving heavy objects.

Around May 9, 2017, Brandon reported these incidences to LuLaRoe Human Resources. After he reported these incidents to HR, Hector suspended him in an alleged act of retaliation.

In another incident, an employee told Brandon that the cashews that he was eating looked like n*igger toes. He complained about the incident and was forced to go home early that day due to not feeling well. It appears as if he did not ask to go home but was instead forced to go home. In response to the complaint, Hector disciplined Brandon and gave him a written warning.

Brandon made four different complaints to HR and it appears that each time a complaint was made, the retaliation increased, and he was not aware of Hector being disciplined at all.

Sometime after that, a meeting took place, without Brandon being present, stating that there were to be “no more n*gger jokes” in the workplace. This meeting demonstrates that LuLaRoe HR knew about the situation yet did nothing to rectify the situation.

On July 13, 2017, Brandon made his last complaint. Days later, he was terminated.

This is not the first time that we’ve heard of LuLaRoe refusing to assist someone who has lodged a complaint with LuLaRoe Human Resources. If you remember in my post about Mack, they also had lodged a complaint about sexual harassment that was ignored.

Brandon’s attorneys have asked for the following:

Yet again, LuLaRoe has raised the bar regarding how low they can go. If they go any lower, they’ll be underground and I’m sure that will happen soon enough. I am appalled and disgusted at the lack of compassion shown by LuLaRoe. They continue to allow blatant discrimination at the hands of their retailers. They continue to allow retailers to mock people with disabilities, with nothing more than a 30-day selling suspension. They now turn a blind eye to racism at the Layered One’s office. The court will open their eyes, whether they want them opened or not.

I hope that this gets out to the press everywhere. I hope that people contact Disney about this and have contacted them about the NDSS issue. I hope that Disney will see through the very thin veil that LuLaRoe tries to use to hide their dirty little secrets.

Being an ex-retailer, I continue to feel dirty and soiled by LuLaRoe and how they operate this business. I wish that I had never heard of them, let alone joined the CULTure.

  1. Hello today (Oct 26th, 2019) I saw in my local news paper in Corona, CA that LLR is shutting down Corona Warehouse removing 167 jobs by December, warehouse to shut down.
    First off, thank you so much for creating this site. I want to help to expose these scumbags and their evil business practices as well as corrupt working conditions…

    Some degenerate folks at LLR (exclusively Mark/Deanne/Jared/Priscilla/ALL WAREHOUSE LEADS/ OPS MANAGERS) deify and canonize themselves to Saint status while committing atrocities against warehouse workers. I worked at both warehouse locations for LLR, it’s TRULY where Dark Triad Personalities will prevail and succeed since Mark & Deanne have created this environment-fostering and coddling low vibrational people (ex-con/felons) and pounding in their heads that they are GODS inside those 4 walls when promoted to a Lead Position. The hierarchies were felt., they behaved as if they were the ELITE/THE BOURGEOISIE/THE ILLUMINATI.
    They hire some lowly ex-cons/felons and promote them to lead/management positions within the warehouse to bully, harass, scare new workers who don’t have criminal records.
    I have seen Jared and other leads coaching a NEW young female worker who became lead on Body Language-to stand authoratively in presence of workers or to stand over workers like a lieutenant. It’s leggings…not a SUPERMAX PRISON like San Quentin. LLR CULTure definitely promotes intimidation, manipulation, scare tactics, and dictatorship. Also-they promote an oppressive classism type/caste system or hierarchy (or pyramid) concerning what/whom is deemed valuable/worthy. Seems having relatives or best friends (Nepotism) working with you furthers your status or value to them. Or brown-nosing the leads/mgrs and owners. You CANNOT go against or REFUSE the LLR Koolaid or they will axe anyone deemed a threat. The NEW lead girl bullied me and always intimidated w/ dirty looks and stares. I never knew her or spoke to her. But she was a random lead that always came around our area just to hang around. Like her, many other females leads, they all hung around together and maddog from afar when eyes met like a bunch of chickenhawks. I found out from a boy whom NEW lead girl fawned over, at what I call ‘LulaRoe/LLR High School/Warehouse’ in Fontana, that she was hired on/promoted quickly because her sister was office management at the location. Nepotism was one of the many themes at LLR High School/Warehouse.

    Intimidation was most prominent theme that constantly reoccured at the LLR. They train the leads to stand over you like prison guards NO MATTER WHAT area they supervise. Almost daily I was harassed by female leads that look straight out of prison. Large statured, hispanic tattooed gangbanger type of girls to bully and intimidate. I worked for LLR Dec 2015 to May 2016. LLR also dangle your job in your face as if you will lose it at the drop of a dime. How can anyone feel safe and comfortable in a working environment like that or even working with LLR at all??? Especially when you keep to yourself.

    I am a 28 Yr Old Black Female and can PERSONALLY attest numerous times to the stench of the environment they have created in a warehouse setting, I co-sign with the person filing the suit. You will be bullied HARDER and/or pushed out going to someone in mgmt. I was bullied by Priscilla-a 26 YR OLD flaming crimson-red haired heavyset hispanic biker chick, whom they made HEAD OF QC Leads at Corona and now she is Operations MGR at Fontana location. Priscilla always told me I was going to be hired on, that I work very hard and I do a great job but she fires me after she promoted a deplorable racist bully, her friend ( I will call Cowgirl) to a LEAD of OUR DEPT/WORK AREA.

    Priscilla was becoming operations manager by way of Deanne and Jared (believe Jared was OPS Mgr and is related to Mark/Deanne S.) at Fontana location, ironically she trained me and onboarded me on my first day in Dec 2015 at Corona location. I literally sat there quiet all the time, throwing myself into my work, and was constantly ostracized and bullied by Cowgirl, Cowgirl’ Roommate/Best Friend, and Priscilla-Operations Manager being quiet in my work area as a Returns/QC/Damage Tech. I DIDNT KNOW SOCIALIZING ABOUT MY PERSONAL LIFE TO DISINGENUOUS PEOPLE IS MANDATORY OR MAKING FAKE FRIENDS AT WORK WAS NEEDED TO IMPROVE WORK PERFORMANCE AND WORK EFFICIENCY.
    I sat quietly, WORKING… and kept to myself because of the obnoxious degenerate racist ‘Cowgirl’ and her friend that always had to be center-stage and had control over our space. Cowgirl was always disingenuous and fake during any interactions and desperate for attention-If you are ‘too quiet’ around her, also known as her probing for info to use against you in retailation and if not receptive, you are a threat.
    Priscilla delegated lead tasks to Cowgirl and ultimately continuously would undermind our QC/Damages Lead, who happened to be an older middle-aged black man who had never missed a day of work at LLR ever.

    I have very bad anxiety, depression, and I shutdown in toxic environments. I was accused always of having ‘dark cloud’ or conversations being ‘dark’ w/ Priscilla when she probed for info and hung over the work area visiting her favorite-Cowgirl. But of course, a dark cloud is over me if I have to deal with people that aren’t decent human beings always lying, false accusations, prejudice, and elitist/superior attitude but they manipulate so well they make themselves face of victimhood. I couldn’t speak out and speak TRUTH because my emotions/words turned against me. My mother says “Best way to say something is to say nothing at all.” I would shutdown and stay to myself because I don’t like confrontation and they twist your words to benefit them. Psychological manipulation. Hard to be at a job w/ demented bullying cliquish racist beings for 8-10, sometimes 12 hrs, 5 sometimes 6 days a week (mandatory Saturdays) during a shift and would take the bullying, passive aggressive behavior, people looking down on you, lies, intimidation, veiled threats of losing job.

    I often remained quiet and non-confrontational to be falsely accused of being confrontational by Cowgirl- whom I reported to Priscilla FIRST for her blatant disrespect ans insubordination to our lead and her fake lies and victimhood. This is the same chick who got drunk/drugged w/ her coworker/roommate outside of warehouse during lunch breaks and come back to work. Priscilla & Cowgirl and her roommate were “FRIENDS” at Corona warehouse for YEARS before she ever met me. Priscilla, Cowgirl, Cowgirl’s roommate always speaking ill about him in front of me and to others. Everyone bullied him (all leads) and I never understood why. Maybe having glasses, being black, being a quirky geek/nerd/intellectual type is grounds to bully people I guess…?? People always alluding to him being a weirdo and never any real solid backing evidence of him being a bad person or said ‘weirdo’. He always work his butt off never stood around like the other Leads micromanaging or gossiping, he always helped us. Priscilla didn’t like that. He was like a father figure to me when I started at Lularoe. He was someone to look up to and to strive to be like. It is a bullying CULTure of LLR. They just didn’t like him… Or me… They all knew each other and worked for LLR for years, they worked with my lead too. Getting rid of him (original QC Lead) was a personal vendetta moreso than his behavior/work performance. Priscilla promoted Cowgirl to lead after sending our Lead to work different departments the SAME DAY. I was fired that SAME DAY because I looked up at Priscilla w/ a disappointed expression and shook my head as she stopped us from working, made a huge grand announcement promoting Cowgirl to Lead of our QC dept and making it a ceremony putting on the Lead vest in front of our dept onto Cowgirl, flaunting acceptance of bad behavior-a huge “F U” to me after I came to Priscilla about the Cowgirl being a bully and instigator of drama.

    Priscilla humilated me and tried to reinforce a stereotype about my ethnicity and culture by escorting me out of the warehouse to my car on a golf cart with 2 big security guards and she is much larger than I am. She told me to leave my box cutter as if I am a criminal or ex-con/felon or I would get violent with her (I have no criminal record whatsoever, not even a traffic ticket ever). Priscilla is a biker type of chick- I should be AFRAID OF HER! I’m thin & petite at 5’3! She made it a huge scene and terminated my assignment thru temp agency. This happen 1 DAY BEFORE they got rid of my Lead-the NEXT day. If you don’t drink LLR CULT Koolaid, they will find a way to destroy you and/or your income/livelihood. One of the worst of many traumatizing jobs I have had in my life. Keep exposing these scumbags at Lularoe!
